Music Teachers National Association supports the careers of studio music teachers by offering continuing education, small business resources, peer-to-peer networking, student performance opportunities and much more. Through their membership with MTNA, the independent music teacher becomes a part of a national forum of like-minded professionals who have chosen to make MTNA their partner in teaching!

MTNA Membership Delivers:

  • Peer Connections—a network of outlets, forums and channels for like-minded individuals in the music profession to collaborate and communicate, both locally and nationally.

  • Ongoing Education—conferences, events and advice on teaching tips and pedagogy, technology and web trends, master classes and informational sessions.

  • Invaluable Resources—access to countless benefits, from Certification, publications and consultation services to competitions, teacher enrichment grants and insurance.

Advancing Professionals Network

A new initiative of NJMTA, Advancing Professionals Network (APN) exists primarily to support the young professionals of New Jersey’s music education industry. APN provides a platform for NJ’s younger and newer music educators to explore the local music industry, develop their understanding of independent music teaching, build their networks, and learn about NJMTA activities and opportunities. Although the initiative is geared towards young professionals such as collegiate students, young adults, and those who are just opening their studios, all who are looking to grow as music makers, educators, and lifelong learners are welcome, and group meetings are open to both members and non-members of NJMTA.

APN will host networking meetings where local music teachers and other aspiring music professionals in the area can gather together. Meeting activities and topics will be explored in collaboration with the needs and interests of the group.
