2019 Conference - Advanced Master Class

Submission Guidelines:

Registration form and fees must be received by September 24, 2019.

REGISTRATION FEE: $55-Fees are non-refundable . No cash or money order will be accepted

TEACHER DUTY: A separate duty deposit fee is required for all participating teachers, both members and non- members. If this is the only event that you are entering students in on this date, please pay the teacher duty fee with this registration. If you are entering students in two or more events  on this date, (YMC piano, YMC Piano Duet, MasterClass Audition, Composer Commission Competition) please submit the teacher duty fee with event registration in which you have the highest number of students entered. 

The duty deposit fee / checks will be returned after the duty is fulfilled, or cashed if the teachers fails to fulfill his/her assigned job.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registration form and fees must be received by September 24, 2019.

 A late fee of $40 is charged for each student entry submitted between September 24 - 28.

  • Entries, submitted by check payment, postmarked after September 24, 2019 will be rejected/returned.

  • Late registrations will not be processed until the late fee is received.

  • If mailing payments they must be sent by regular mail. NO CERTIFIED MAIL, PLEASE!

  • Due to the complexity of scheduling, any requests regarding time preferences, schedule changes, or student substitution will not be honored once the registration forms are submitted

  • Please register online and then make an online payment or mail two separate checks - one for total student registration fees and one for teacher duty fee. Checks should be made payable to NJ Music Teachers Assn. and mailed to:

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY: Please refer to the General Information page.

Age: 13 years old ~ Collegiate:Undergraduate level

Students are not permitted to perform two years in a row for the Master Class; Students who have performed in the 2018 master class are not eligible to audition in 2019.

TEACHER ELIGIBILITY: Please refer to the General Information page.

REPERTOIRE: One selection of 10 minutes or less from the advanced repertoire from any musical period in any style, such as a movement from a Beethoven Sonata.The selection is at the discretion of the teacher. No arrangements or simplified edition will be accepted. Repeats will not be played, unless the repeats affect the integrity of the piece. Variations must be performed in their entirety. Memorization is required.

 

PLEASE NOTE: For selected students, please refer to the registration page for family rate attending the session.

Although the selected students do not need to pay to perform for the Advanced Master Class or Intermediate Master Class, there will be a Family rate of $35 for Family up to 4 (parents with pre-college students) to attend the Master Class.

Also teachers of selected master class students who are only attending the master class will also need to pay for the session fee of either $35 for members or $45 for non member teachers.
