Yining Wang received his Bachelor of Music degree from Shanghai Conservatory, which he entered as the first-place winner of the entrance auditions. He later studied with Robert Lincoln and Ilana Vered at the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, where he received his Master of Music degree. At Rutgers, he performed in master classes with Ann Schein and Richard Goode. He has appeared as a soloist and collaborative pianist in numerous concerts, as well as on TV and radio.
Mr. Wang maintains an active studio. His students have won prizes in local and state competitions, and have performed at State Conferences and the World Piano Pedagogy Conference as well as in Cami Hall, Steinway Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Zenkel Hall at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Nicholas Music Center at Rutgers University, Merkin Concert Hall and Victoria Theatre at NJPAC. They have also performed on cable TV.
Mr. Wang is a Permanent Professional Certified Teacher of Music in Piano certified by the Music Teachers National Association and the Piano Teachers Society of America. He is also a recipient of the Genia Robinar Pedagogy Award of Excellence presented by the Piano Teachers Society of America and the Distinguished Pedagogy Award of Outstanding Teaching by the Cecilian Music Club. In 2016, he received the Teacher of the Year Award from the NJMTA and The Top Teacher of 2016 to 2020 Award voted by Steinway & Sons in Lawrenceville New Jersey.
Mr. Wang is a frequent adjudicator at competitions and auditions for the SMEA, NJMTA, Golden Keys and TYMA. He is a Past President of the New Jersey Music Teachers Association.
